A Brief history of
Tellus Group
Founded in 2017 by Craig Martin, Tellus Group was established to leverage decades of experience in real estate investment, development, and community building.
Craig, the company’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, has spent over 45 years in the industry with a proven record of success in strategic and value-add real estate. Under his leadership, Tellus Group has assembled a team with deep expertise in financial strategy and community development, specializing in highly amenitized, master-planned lifestyle communities and Tier 1 real estate assets.
Craig’s career began as a real estate investment broker with the Staubach Company (now JLL) while studying real estate and finance at Southern Methodist University. Over the years, he served in leadership roles at Robert M. Bass Realty, Landmark Golf Company, and as managing general partner of the Angel Fire Ski and Golf Resort. He went on to found Terra Verde Group, leading large-scale land development partnerships and resort projects. His experience, combined with his active involvement in organizations such as the Urban Land Institute and the Dallas and National Home Builders Associations, has helped shape Tellus Group’s forward-looking vision.
Supporting Craig’s leadership, David Blom, partner and president, brought a complementary background in land development and finance when he joined Tellus Group. His career began at RepublicBank in Texas, where he worked on foreclosures and asset turnarounds. He later oversaw entitlement, development, and sale of more than 4,000 lots across Dallas–Fort Worth, before moving into institutional investment management. At Forest City Enterprises, David launched the Texas Land Division, building a $700 million portfolio, and later managed the award-winning Windsong Ranch master-planned community with Terra Verde Group and its transition in ownership to Tellus Group.
Together, Craig and David have built Tellus Group into a highly specialized real estate investment and development firm. By combining financial expertise with a vision for lifestyle-oriented, high-design communities, the company continues to pursue opportunities that deliver extraordinary, risk-adjusted returns for its partners.
